My heart is
feeling heavy tonight,
the stars are shinning but not so bright.
Time is passing so slowly today,
nothing's the same when he's away.
My eyes glance
at his picture by my bed,
sweet thoughts of him fill my head.
All his love I feel coming my way,
nothing's the same when he's away.
I
play soft music all night long,
remembering all his favorite songs.
Tender kisses, bodies dancing in a slow sway,
nothing's the same when he's away.
I try to sleep
the whole night through,
I awake to the quiet of the darkened dew.
My hand touches where he always lays,
nothing's the same when he's away.
Laying my
head upon his chest,
comforts me and helps me rest.
So tonight no sleep will come my way,
nothing's the same when he's away.
Together is
where we belong,
the days in between are way to long.
I don't think I can take this one more day,
nothing's the same when he's away.
My ears are
missing his gentle voice,
that says I love you, I've made my choice.
Lord keep him safe I softly pray,
nothing's the same when he's away.
With eyes
that see into my very soul,
there is nothing about me he does not know.
I feel so lonely here today,
nothing's the same when he's away.
One
year later so in love are we,
white roses he sent for our anniversary.
The day will come when he can stay,
nothing's the same when he's away.
A ring of
promise he placed upon my hand,
his gift of love, a silver, gold band.
I know his love for me never goes astray,
even when he's away.
