I came upon her realm
with only a sword.
Armor bent and tarnished
from so many battles before.

I asked of her for shelter
from the tearing of the wind.
To regain my sense of honor.
Relearn chivalry again.

She smiled upon me softly,
with eyes as blue as my soul.
I hid from her the tears of shame
I truly could not control.

Kneeling before her weakly,
I laid my sword at her feet.
I swore allegiance to her
with words both tired and beat.

I wished for her to denounce me
so I wouldn't have to stay.
I had felt before unworthy,
but never as much as this day.

When I heard her voice from above me
my mind could scarcely believe,
that such a darling tone of softness
would ever be addressing me.

She said to me "Take heart sad one
gaze upon your sword.
For here is all the good you've done
in life, and so much more.

Your quest for truth and honor now
hath brought you to my side.
In chivalries name, faiths proclaim,
alas you have died.

Yet it's deeds such as theses
that save a place
within this realm you see.
For truths are worn and faiths are few
but both you pledge to me.

Please take your sword for all you need
is "you" and that you bring.
Arise my friend, stand beside me,
and proudly await your king."
