Reaching out for you in the dark night.
You are not there.
I whisper your name and you do not answer.
I can’t believe that you are not here.
I feel you all around me.
Your touch, your smell.
So real are you.
Opening my eyes I see I am all alone.
A dream now hit with reality.
Putting my head in my hands,
I close my eyes to capture that moment again.
But the dream is gone.
I can no longer feel you here with me.
Although, some of you lingers..
You are in my heart.
You are in my thoughts.
But my arms are empty.
Your touch has abandoned me.
I can hear the howling of the wind.
It frightens me.
How I need you right now.
The comfort of your arms.
The security of your voice.
Sleep beholds me.
I find comfort in thoughts of you.
Silently the night befriends me.
Drifting into in to a place that is safe again.
You are there.
Only in my dreams.
