It seems I have only been asleep for a short while,
how can this beautiful lady be my child?
It seems as though it was only yesterday,
that I was chasing the boogie man away.

What a lovely young lady you have grown up to be,
I am so proud that you are a daughter to me.
One more year of high school and off to college you go,
all those school years behind us, how is this so?

I remember hearing your first word so well ,
now you have so many more tales to tell.
When you took that first step it made me cry,
you fell down but gave it one more try.

You never give up no matter what is in your way,
you are determined to accomplish even to this day.
With that my precious darling you will be a success,
nothing can stop or stall your progress.

You are witty and charming, you have an angles grace,
with a dimpled smile that lights up your beautiful face.
The world can be yours, it is waiting for you,
may God be with you in all you do.

No matter what you do or where you are,
know that I am proud of you, my shinning star.
To say I love you would be putting it mild,
no words can describe you, Cherish , my child.
