What time I have had these past few years.
Seems like I am always wiping tears.
I look up and I see a friendly smile.
You have been there all the while.

We have not been close all our lives.
We met in passing, just being wives.
You and I are mothers too.
Free moments were way to few.

Our children playing and growing up.
Can I borrow some milk? Just one cup?
They were friends before we met.
Neighbors we are, how lucky can we get?

We started talking day by day.
Hey, are you going walking? Come my way?
Walking each day while we talked.
We are back so fast, lets go one more block.

So much alike in many ways.
I wish I would have known you in happier days.
We share secrets hidden inside.
Happiness we know we've been denied.

I thank the lord each and every day.
For sending you along my way.
Couldn't have made it without your care.
There is so much that only we two share.

I can't imagine my life without you.
Close or far away your there, its true.
I know that you will be there for me.
Always there when no one else could see.

I just want to take this time to let you know.
I love you dearly, not afraid to let it show.
You are a priceless gift that I will always treasure.
The endless joy you bring is beyond measure.

Grown so close, are friendship is strong.
Never a moment when I was wrong.
You never judge me or turn me away.
By my side and in my heart you will stay.
